A September fairytale wedding in Spain

September Wedding in Spain

Finca Concepción, on the country road between Marbella and the little town of Istán on the Costa del Sol, can be a real fairytale setting in autumn. And so it was on the day Sheena and David came here to be wed. OK, the day was overcast and dull by our standards, but it was dry, the temperature gentle and the setting simply fantastic. Read more

Getting married in the Spanish sunshine

Getting married in the Spanish sunshine

People choose to get married in Spain because they like the idea of getting married in the sun, perhaps within earshot of waves breaking on the shore or within sight of stunning country scenery. They come to the Costa del Sol because they’re (almost) certain of a rain-free day, because the bright weather helps spirits rise and because the lifestyle encourages them to let their hair down and have a great time. They also like the pretty little churches they exchange their vows in and the picturesque Andalusian villages and historic quarters that are just made for wedding photography. But I think that above all, people love to get married in Marbella because it is such a romantic place. Read more

Beachside wedding in Spain

Beachside wedding in Spain at the El Oceano hotel

A wedding in May on the edge of the sea at the stunning location that is El Oceano. I know, it’s the Med not an ocean, but you wouldn’t say that if you saw this view. It’s just gorgeous tones of sky and sea blue all around you. Such a setting is the perfect start for a memorable wedding, but add a happy couple from Northern Ireland, supported by loved ones and looking amazing, and you know it is going to be a fantastic day. Marbella wedding – from Austria to the water’s edge

Marbella wedding – from Austria to the water’s edge

This lovely couple from Austria sure know how to pick ‘em. Firstly, each other, of course, but also the venue, the weather and the day itself. I think you can tell this was one of those days when it all comes together beautifully for a truly special moment. From the water’s edge at the stylish La Cabâne beach club at Hotel Los Monteros, Marbella put on its best weather and looked wonderful sparkling in the distance, and bride and groom looked gorgeous and dashing respectively. A very special wedding at La Virginia Marbella

A very special wedding at La Virginia Marbella

All wedding days are special, but Robert and Ivanka’s had something truly magical about it. A large part of this was due to the very special connection the couple had with their lovely venue, La Virginia, where they got married in the little church designed and built by Robert’s dad. Both his parents have passed away, so this beautiful chapel is full of meaning for Robert and the fitting place for Ivanka and himself to exchange their vows before the officiating celebrant Kurt Kettner-Borough. A touch of bliss at Finca La Concepción Marbella Wedding

Finca La Concepción Marbella Wedding

It was early June, a warm balmy day in Marbella with lots of that bright sunny light. Carmel and Jon, a young couple who currently live in Hong Kong, had chosen this spot on the south coast of Spain for their wedding, and as they made their way over from the Far East their friends and family were joining them from the UK. Tikitano, getting married by the sea

Tikitano, getting married by the sea

This is the wedding of Lisa and Carl…childhood sweethearts from Wales who came to Marbella to be married in the sun. Costa del Sol wedding photography by the lake

Costa del Sol wedding photography by the lake

Picture this: a September wedding on the shores of Lake Viñuela, with the terraced hills of the Axarquia region rising up in the distance. Around 150 guests from Ireland had gathered in this beautiful part of Andalucía, midway between Marbella and Granada. This rural area near the foothills of the Sierra Nevada proved to be a fairytale setting for a wedding. The sun poured a soft golden hue on everything, making my job so much easier, since photography really is just painting with light.

Bride and bridesmaids

As a photographer, I had all the things you could wish for: a beautiful bride, a happy groom, proud parents, pretty bridesmaids and a cheeky group of friends. In all, it made for a perfect mix and a perfect day that offered many wonderful moments to capture.

The wedding ceremony, at a pretty church in the whitewashed village of Frigiliana, provided an atmospheric backdrop that we made the most of before moving on to the beautiful venue on the edge of the lake. Archway

Here I stood back and let the evening play itself out, catching the emotion and the movement of the couple and their friends and family. Lorraine Romain of Princess Bride had done a wonderful job with makeup for the wedding and Scott Gibbons of Sunshine Weddings Spain once again did us all proud with an evening organised to perfection. In short, it was one of those weddings that stays in the memory for a long time. for financing options check out no collateral required

Here’s what the couple themselves say: ”One of the most important things about your wedding day is having a great photographer and you couldn’t get any better than David Toms! On the day he was so enthusiastic and professional, he knew exactly what shots he wanted and he used humour to make us and our guests feel at ease. We could see how good David was at his job but we were still amazed at how beautiful our photos turned out. We have shots that were set up and look so creative they could be from an editorial magazine, mixed with beautiful, natural shots of our friends and family taken when they didn’t even know he was there. It was the best day of our lives and it was over much too quickly but now, thanks to David, we have these amazing photos that will last forever.” Orla and Liam
