Getting married by the sea – El Oceano, Mijas

Getting married by the sea – El Oceano, Mijas

Ok, I know the Mediterranean is not an ocean, but this wonderful wedding was right on the beach’s edge at El Oceano Beach Hotel, so you know what I mean. It’s such a great venue and Glen and his staff were brilliant, as ever. The couple, Holly and Paul, live locally, so they are used to a thing or two when it comes to sunshine and seascapes, but this was a particularly beautiful day, and when you’re having cocktails by the pool and dinner by the sea the world is a fantastic place. Local love – a classic wedding ceremony in Marbella

Though not actually Marbellí or even Spanish, Roslin and Hugo can be considered to be ‘locals’ since they have live and work here for some time. Hindu wedding in Estepona – an explosion of the senses

Hindu wedding in Estepona – an explosion of the senses

Wow, what an experience. As you know I’ve done a lot of weddings in my time, but this Hindu ceremony was really something special. Some might call it exotic and different, but you have to be there to fully appreciate the dazzling effect on the senses – rich, vibrant colours and textures, fragrant smells in the air and people in beautiful outfits. It’s quite a scene and this one converted the amphitheatre at Hotel Villa Padierna, Estepona, into something from a fairytale.

I have lived in India and love the culture and the religion, so I totally love being a part of Hindu weddings. As a person and a photographer there is just something special about it, and I’d love to do lots more. Rajvi and Bhavesh looked wonderful and as the bride is also a professional wedding planner in the UK the whole day just flowed from one highlight to another. The greatest moment, however, was the marriage itself, and if the ceremony was anything to go by the omens are good. Read more

The perfect setting for a Marbella wedding

The prefect setting for a Marbella wedding

Nicola and James from the UK sure know how to pick a romantic setting. They chose a spot even many long-time residents of the Costa del Sol might not have been to, on the country road from Marbella to the pretty little white mountain village of Istán. From here you look out over the lake and the surrounding countryside of hills covered in trees, with the big mountains of the interior rising up behind them. Read more

A mind-blowing Marbella wedding!

A mind-blowing Marbella wedding

You can imagine I have seen a lot of weddings, but this one was really something. To start with, it lasted for three days! Beautifully organised and choreographed, it was something to behold, with elegant guests, exclusive venues, amazing décor, food and a list of entertainment that just wouldn’t stop.

As a top international London-based event and wedding organiser herself, the wedding of Rayna and Lord Benjamin Hunter was always going to be very special, but I have to say it surpassed all my expectations. First came a welcome party in the El Gran Gatsby restaurant in Puerto Banús to get everybody in the mood, then the very stylish main event at the Marbella Club Hotel, and the following day a beach side lunch at The Ocean Club. South Spain Wedding bliss ‘down under’

South Spain Wedding bliss

By down under I mean Southern Spain, though groom David was actually born in the real Down Under. He and his lovely, smiling bride Lucy got the sun, the setting and the wonderful day they deserved. They were married at the picturesque La Cala Church, then allowed me to make some romantic images of them on the beach before joining their guests at Hacienda San José.

Stunning Wedding Photography in Marbella

What a wedding! The bride plays in the West End production of Shrek and many of her friends and family are in show business too, so I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised to hear them all singing and laughing as they were getting ready. What’s more, they were really good, so it sounded amazing. Then came the crunch moment as a song pre-recorded by the lovely bride was played as a surprise for the groom when she walked down the aisle. It had the desired effect – and everybody was full of emotion, I can tell you. Read more
