Tikitano, getting married by the sea

This is the wedding of Lisa and Carl…childhood sweethearts from Wales who came to Marbella to be married in the sun. Lisa is such a kind, thoughtful lady and there was no wedding planner – she did it all herself. She certainly has organisational skills, because all went beautifully and the guests enjoyed a wonderful day on the edge of the Mediterranean.

The chosen venue was Tikitano, one of my favourite spots for a wedding ceremony. And how could it not be – this stunning Polynesian-inspired restaurant and club sits on a prime spot of seashore, on a broad curve of the coast between the Costa del Sol’s San Pedro and Estepona. It’s surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens and has a terrace that looks straight on to the open sea. You’re just metres from the beach and have the waves as your soundtrack and the amazing outlines of Gibraltar and Morocco as your backdrop, which makes it a perfect spot to photograph couples.

The restaurant is noted for its fine dining and atmosphere, and I have to say I love working with Scarlet, who manages the events at Tikitano. She is very professional and efficient but also a delight to get on with and very accommodating to clients’ needs. She certainly helped bring Lisa’s ideas to life, and between them they set the tone for a wonderful day with gorgeous décor and catering.
