A dream wedding in Spain
That’s just what Linda and Des from Dublin had, shared with their happy entourage of family and friends. It was a May wedding at Hacienda San José, a beautiful fincain the gorgeous Andalusian countryside. A blue sky, the sound of crickets in the background, the sweet smell of flowering mimosa and a classic Mediterranean garden complete with tall cypress trees.

Now we all know that marriage is a serious business, a commitment built on love and togetherness, but a wedding day is an expression of joy and happiness that infects even the most unromantic of people. So it’s hardly strange that those who come to share in your happiness want to make a fun occasion of it, as well as a memorable one.

Wow, taking your vows with the waves breaking just a few metres away is quite something, and the many friends and family over from the UK must have wondered if that’s an everyday thing here.

That’s what Katie and Ryan Williams did, coming down to the little town of Guadiaro on the edge of Sotogrande to wed in the sun. It was September, and perfect weather in this corner of Southern Spain, so the large group of family and friends were all in a great mood. It didn’t hurt that the wedding was held at the wonderful Cortijo Los Canos, a stylish Andalusian country house complete with shady courtyards and a first-class restaurant.

This is the wedding of Lisa and Carl…childhood sweethearts from Wales who came to Marbella to be married in the sun. Lisa is such a kind, thoughtful lady and there was no wedding planner – she did it all herself. She certainly has organisational skills, because all went beautifully and the guests enjoyed a wonderful day on the edge of the Mediterranean.
