Melanie and Rebecca chose the golden Andalusian autumn sun for their wedding. Indeed, it would have been hard to imagine a rain-soaked British October day as we basked in soft temperatures and let the joy of the day wash over us. The venue was the romantic Molino de Santillan, a rustic hotel complete with yoga and wellness centre set within beautiful scenery overlooking the Mediterranean near Vélez-Málaga.
The couple’s loved ones had gathered there to see them exchange their vows and share the moment with them. Natasha Johnston administered the wedding ceremony, followed by a joyous day that began with a wonderful open-air lunch topped with the cake by wedding planner Paula of Perfect Spanish Weddings, and live music from guitarist Mark Shruey and the Sarah Howard Duo.
In fact, Paula from Perfect Spanish Weddings had organised everything just so, as she does, leaving Melanie, Rebecca and their guests to enjoy themselves and reflect upon a special day. The couple have expressed their love of Spain and its food, culture and natural settings, so for them this was a perfect choice for a relaxed ceremony in which they chose the elements they wanted for their wedding.
As a result, the décor, ceremony and ambience became how they had imagined it to be, and reflected their personalities and feelings. I played my own small part in it, and I am glad to say they were pleased with my work. Here are a few words from them: “Before we had even decided for sure whether or not to get married in Spain we saw David’s images just through searching ‘Weddings in Spain’ and fell in love with the country and his photography. We knew before we’d even been over to look at venues that we wanted David to be our photographer.”
“He is a wonderful, friendly and passionate person, putting us at ease on the day and making us and all of our guests laugh for some lovely natural looking photos. He created some really beautiful moments without having to give us too much direction. He respected that it was our day and that each moment needed to be special and gave us the space we needed. David also worked wonderfully well with our videographer, despite the fact that they had never met before. We were really impressed with how they set up shots for one another and helped each other create wonderful results. Our photographs are beautiful. Thank you David xx.”
