A country wedding in Southern Spain
It was like one of those romantic movies where friends and family come together in the countryside in Provence or Tuscany, only in this case the setting was Casares in our own stunning Andalusian countryside. The mountains, greenery and white village close by provided a backdrop that was certainly worthy of a movie, and I think the beautiful Sonia, her proud groom John and their (large) following were definitely impressed.
The bride looked lovely and happy, and I managed to catch her in contemplative and emotional moments, as well as leading the happy couple away from their guests after the wedding ceremony performed by Jeff, to take some images of them together. They didn’t need any direction, just did their thing and looked very natural and romantic. I think the venue helped, because the Hacienda Acedia in the countryside just outside Casares is an amazingly atmospheric place.
It was on its lawn that a huge wedding table was placed – the biggest I’ve seen for a long time. Here John and Sonia’s friends and family enjoyed a feast prepared by CES Marbella with all that fantastic mountain scenery all around them. Having such a ‘prop’ certainly added drama to my photography too, and though the newlyweds live in Spain I think they were pretty awestruck by such a wonderfully romantic setting and day.
